The largest trout in each pool gets on the "primary" feeding station in each pool to take advantage of the great numbers of sulphur mayflies which are hatching now. This is either the lip of the pool or the corner of the pool. Fishing a Shenk's Sulphur Dry size 18 or a Murray's Sulphur Dry size 18 at this time of the year is very effective.
8:30pm on May 21, 2020 Update on the Shenandoah National Park--Shenandoah National Park will begin its phased reopening at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, May 23. During this phase Old Rag, Whiteoak and their associated trails, as well as all boundary trailheads and picnic areas remain closed.
