The hatches are very sparse but I'm seeing many moths and houseflies along the streams and the trout are feeding on both. The Murray's Moth size 16 and Murray's Housefly size 16 are both very effective. Fish the moth in the back eddies and pool corners at dusk and the housefly in the flat pools and to all rising trout.
The brook trout will start spawning soon so starting in October through December I do not recommend fishing these streams.
You will get your best water levels by coming in off the Skyline Drive. The water temperature is alot cooler in these mountain trout streams so make sure you bring your hippers.
