Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - Update December 15, 2018

Update December 15--The North and South Fork are currently too high and discolored from the recent rains.  We the expected rainfall for this weekend, it will take some time for them to clear and drop.  I will post more updates as the conditions change.

Original Post December 13--We are catching some large bass right below the riffles where they drop into deep pools using the Murray's Tungsten Cone Head Marauder in either pearl or olive in size 4.

Tungsten Cone Head Marauder

On the North Fork of the Shenandoah access point #1 right below the old Farmers Mill Dam off the upper parking spot on Route 661 is excellent. The river is clear and is in great shape to wade...bring your chest high waders and warm gloves.

Stream Flows for the North Fork
Mt. Jackson  3.27ft  CFS 342
Strasburg 2.73ft.  CFS 609

On the South Fork of the Shenandoah access point #10 at Burner's Bottom is in great shape.  I would recommend floating this area instead of wading.

Stream Flows for the South Fork
Luray 3.42ft.  CFS 1460
