Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - June 26, 2019

Recommended Flies:  The aquatic grassbeds on the Shenandoah River hold many shiner minnows and the bass are feeding well upon them. I use the Silver Outcast Streamer size 4 to fish around the grassbeds where the water is 3 feet deep or less. In deeper water I use the Murray's Heavy Shiner size 6. A fast 4 inch stripping action every 10 seconds will catch many bass in these areas..

Stream Conditions:  The North Fork of the Shenandoah River is clear and fishable.  The South Fork of the Shenandoah River in the area of Stanley through Luray is muddy from the heavy rains received Monday evening. This should clear out quickly. The Front Royal area is currently clear and fishable.
