Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - June 6, 2019

Recommended Flies:  The Shenandoah Blue Popper in size 6 is productive fished tight to the banks. The Shenandoah Chartreuse Chugger in size 6 is good fished in the tails of the pools. Behind the island upstream of access point #13 (on our marked map) on the South Fork is giving us some large bass with these same two bugs. If you cannot get any topwater action then go to the old standby--Murray's Marauder in Pearl, Olive, or Black size 6.

Stream Conditions:  The North Fork of the Shenandoah River is clear and in beautiful shape. Any of the public access places from Strasburg upstream through Mount Jackson would be great to fish at this time. Upstream of access point #19 is giving up some excellent smallmouth fishing. The South Fork of the Shenandoah River is clear and fishable.  We have been doing well on our float trips on the South Fork.  All access places are located on our master map in the fly shop.  The water temperature is around 72 degrees.
