Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report- November 14, 2017

Murray's Black Strymph and Murray's Olive Strymph
Here is another technique I use to fish the deep cuts between the river-crossing ledges I discussed last week.Often I start at the upstream section of these cuts and use a Scientific Anglers Sonar Sink Tip III Sinking Tip Fly Line with a Murray's Fluorocarbon 6 foot 2X Sinking Line Leader to cast the Murray's Strymph across stream. After the Strymph sinks deeply, I swim it back across the streambottom by stripping it six inches every ten seconds. I make this presentation about every ten feet as I wade slowly down the river.

Access point #3 (Burnshire Bridge) on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River is fishing good. Access point # 12 (Goods Landing) on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River is fishing good.
