Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - November 18, 2021

The streams are getting cooler and the bass are going deeper.  Use the heaviest weighted flies you can and fish as deeply and slowly as you can.  A Murray's Heavy Hellgrammite, Black size 4 and Murray's Tungsten Cone Head Marauders in size 4 will work well in these conditions.  With the streams cooling off, I will continue to go until I get completely skunked three times in a row.

The North Fork of the Shenandoah River is clear and fishable.  Downstream of the Burnshires Bridge and Lupton access of the Seven Bends State Park are great areas to fish.  There are many deeper pools below the Chapman's Landing access as well. Stop by the fly shop for more information.

The South Fork of the Shenandoah River was high earlier this week but is starting to return to normal.  It is currently still to much water for safe wading but you can float it.
