Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - September 11, 2021

The North Fork of the Shenandoah River is full but fishable. There is still a slight discoloration left from the heavy rains but it is improving every day. The Mount Jackson area at Meems bottom downstream to the Seven Bends State Park (Lupton access) in Woodstock would be the best areas to fish this weekend.

The South Fork of the Shenandoah is still discolored but the levels are good.  I would give it another few days to clear some more if you plan to wade.

The Mr. Rapidan Skater size 8 will match the Hexagenia Hatch occurring the last 2 hours of daylight.  The Shenk's White Streamer size 6,  Murray's Heavy Hellgrammite (Black) size 6, and Magnum Darter size 4 are working well in this falling water. Fish these on a 2X leader.
