Stocked Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report - August 1, 2019

Recent rains have flushed many nymphs from the riffles and fishing a three-nymph rig will enable you to catch trout. I like to use Murray's Caddis Larva size 14, Murray's Dark Stonefly Nymph size 12 and a Murray's Olive Caddis Pupa size 14 tied in tandem on a Murray's 9ft 4X Trout Nymph Leader. Cast across stream below the riffles and swim them back across stream with a slow twitching action.

Stream Conditions:   The recent localized rains have kept the streams such as Big Stoney Creek (Edinburg), Passage Creek (Fort Valley) and Mill Creek (Mount Jackson) at great water levels.  All are clear and fishable.  Please keep in mind that these streams are not stocked during the summer months.

Stop by the fly shop in Edinburg, VA and check out our master map with access to fish the local streams.
