Stocked Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report - February 27, 2020

The stream levels and water temperatures are ideal for good fishing in the delayed harvest streams. A very effective technique at this time of the year is to fish a three nymph rig matching the stonefly, mayfly, and caddis larva that the trout feed upon. Three of my favorites are the Murray's Dark Stonefly Nymph size 12, Murray's Professor Nymph size 14, and Murray's Caddis Larva size 14. These can be fished across the deep pools with a slow stripping action or upstream dead drift just below the riffles.

All of the local stocked trout steams such as Big Stoney Creek (last stocked 2/20), Passage Creek, and Mill Creek are currently clear and fishable
