Stocked Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report - May 23, 2019

Recommended Flies: Most of these streams have good dry fly fishing from noon until dark. The trout begin by feeding on the emerging sulphurs in the middle of the day and end by feeding on the spinners at dusk. An effective tactic is to fish a Murray's Sulphur Dry size 16 on a 9ft 6X Classic Leader with a Murray's Sulpur Nymph size 16 on a three foot dropper below it.

Stream Conditions:  All of the local stocked trout streams and delayed harvest areas including Passage Creek (Fort Valley), Mill Creek (Mount Jackson) and Big Stoney Creek (Edinburg) are at perfect water levels and clear.

Recommended Gear: I am using a 5X Leader with a 7 1/2ft to 9ft fly rod with a 4 to 6 weight fly line.
